2015 is an important year for O’Connor Insurance. Why? It’s our 40th anniversary! My Dad, Robert D. O’Connor, started the agency on June 2, 1975. Mom, Cheryl O’Connor, came on board six years later, in 1981.
I joined the agency in 1985, 10 years later (when I was 9 of course!), making O’Connor Insurance truly a family business — Dad, Mom and daughter, all working side by side. When Dad started the agency, he wanted to serve the community association market, and we continue that focus today, along with our commercial and personal lines.
As I reflect back on the 40 year legacy of our agency, I remember some of the best advice Mom and Dad ever gave me — and that was the importance of customer service. Dad believed in treating clients like family, giving them the same attention and care as our family. The relationships we’ve grown over our 40 year history are a great reminder that we must be doing things right.
O’Connor Insurance has been blessed to work with some very talented and dedicated people. Betty Samples, now retired, was our very first employee. Russell Weber and Liz Smith have been with us for over sixteen years now, bringing their industry knowledge and expertise to our clients every day. Kathy McLafferty and Mary Perkins have been vital members of the O’Connor Insurance team for 21 years. Our team takes great pride in providing industry-leading service and knowledge to assist all our clients.
As an interesting piece of company history, our office in Creve Coeur was the first commercial property to install solar panels and become a green property.
O’Connor Insurance will continue to grow much as we always have — through the dedication of our people in building and maintaining a reputation for treating each and every one of our customers like family.
